April/May US Shows

Hey folks,Hope you're all having a wonderful April 1st. Just wanted to remind everyone that we are doing a few select US dates in April and May that we would love to see as many of you as possible at. We'll be returning to The Shelter in Detroit on April 13th, with our friends Fifth and Main opening up, en route to Chicago to play Hideout and East Room on April 15th & 16th respectively as part of CIMMFest. Later in the month we'll be opening for our pals in Alternate Routes in their stomping grounds of Ridgefield, CT on April 30th as well as making up the date we had to cancel at Jammin Java in January, due to weather, on May 2nd - tickets for the last show will be honoured. And we figured while we we're in the neighbourhood we might as well get back to NYC. We will be playing the Bowery Electric on May 3rd. All ticket info etc. is available here. That's it for now folks. We will check in with you again soon. Happy Friday. Cheers! JA

The Rock Boat Recap

Well, what can I say, it was a BLAST to be on the Rock Boat last week. We got to catch up with some old friends and make some new ones, rock some B-ball, battleshots and headphone disco and did one heck of a lot of partying in between it all. If there's anyone on there that was seeing us for the first time, please follow us on our mailing list or socials for when we might be in an area near you again. We'd love to see any and all of y'all again sometime. Until then, Cheers! JA

January 23rd - Vienna, VA - Show Postponed

Hey folks, A bit of bad news, the promoter in Vienna, VA has postponed all of this weekend’s shows at Jammin’ Java on account of this mega storm that is heading their way. We are deeply disappointed to not be able to play for you guys this weekend but this one is truly out of our hands as you can’t negotiate with the great Mother Nature. We will be back to make up this date so stay tuned. For now, we play Philly and then drive south. - The TrewsFor those wishing to refund their tickets please contact the outlet where they purchased the ticket or go to the club directly.

Tour Announcement

Hey folks,

We're excited to announce that we'll be hitting the road in the US en route to, and on the way back from, The Rock Boat in January/February of next year. We left some of our American fans hanging this past summer when we were forced to cancel some shows due to some hassles we had at immigration but that's all been cleared up now and we're pumped and ready to go. See a full list of these US club dates listed below.

Also, as some of you may have already heard, we are heading out on a short acoustic tour of select theatres across Canada in February/March directly following our American run.

In support of this outing we have decided to re-issue our 2009 live acoustic release "Friends and Total Strangers".

This Deluxe Re-Issue will feature 4 songs pulled from the same performances at Glenn Gould Studio in Toronto in January of '09 that were previously unavailable on the original release or it's accompanying DVD.

These live bonus performances are "Every Inambition", "Makin' Sunshine", "No Time For Later" and "Not Ready To Go".

We are also making "Friends and Total Strangers" available on vinyl for the very first time. This will be a double vinyl LP and can be purchased at our acoustic shows or ordered online from our website, available early 2016.

The deluxe reissued CD and vinyl have both been digitally re-mastered in their entirety. And to get you in the mood for this upcoming acoustic run, we are making the re-issue available FRIDAY, Nov. 27th!! so happy listening and enjoy!

We are really looking forward to this acoustic tour. There's been a new album since we last toured acoustically ( 2014's The Trews ) and we've been doing a lot of writing lately so there's plenty of new material to draw on when compiling the set lists. It's always a great way for us to shake things up.

We're also very excited to announce that Rich Robinson, formerly of the Black Crowes, will be joining us solo acoustic for 3 shows out west, in Calgary and two nights in Sherwood Park, AB (Edmonton area). We are very big fans of Rich's solo work and are thrilled to have him on the bill with us. We did a little collaborating with Rich on the "...thank you and I'm sorry" EP a couple years back and it will be great to play with him again. So check out the dates below, give the "FATS" re-issue a spin or two, and we'll see you out on the road in the new year.

A Message From John-Angus

Well folks, it really, really pains me to say this but we’re gonna be unable to make the Red Waiting Blue shows in Fairfield and Boston. This sucks.

Here’s the straight goods. We have to apply for a visa every time we go to work in the States. US immigration requires us to show contracts every time we apply.  So at stages like this, where we are on the back end of an album cycle and aren’t playing all the time, we have to do separate application every time we cross in. These applications have to be submitted 45 business days before the first show. We got ours in 51 days before the first show. Now unfortunately during that time frame we received word that the system that processes the visas was hacked causing a severe backlog bumping all visa approvals to within 60 days instead of 45. As I write this we still haven’t been approved. We sat with suitcases and guitars packed for the past 72 hours waiting to get on the road at the drop of a hat. We were forced to cancel the Philly and NYC shows when it became clear that we wouldn’t be able to make it there on time even if the visas’ came through. We were hoping we would be able to make the last two happen but as the week winds down and we still haven’t been approved it’s very unlikely that we’ll be able to make it there either ( I’m told they close up shop for the weekends, so if we haven’t gotten them by the end of the business day today then it’s no dice… ).

Our sincerest apologies to our fans, some of whom traveled far and wide to take in these shows, and to Red Waiting Blue. We really hope we can make this up to you one way or another. Maybe it’s the negative karma associated with writing a song like Paranoid Freak but I really feel like we have the worst luck when it comes to the border. We’re gonna be taking every precaution to ensure this doesn’t happen ever again. For those going to the shows, enjoy them! RWB do an amazing job every time. We’ll be there in spirit and hope to make this bill happen stateside again real soon.

Sincerely, JA

A Message From The Band

Due to an unforeseen delay that has affected our ability to enter the US, we will be unable to play in Philadelphia tonight (August 12th) and in New York tomorrow night (August 13th). We are deeply disappointed that we will not be able to play these shows and hope to make them up soon. The shows are not cancelled, Red Wanting Blue will still be playing. We are holding out hope that we will be able to play the remainder of our US shows this week. We will update you ASAP. This is completely out of our hands and we sincerely apologize for the inconvenience. - The Trews

A Message From Sean

"To all the hard core Trewbadours out there:

Well what can I say folks its been an amazing run. The years playing with the Trews have been best years of my life. Countless hours in the jam space and playing thousands of live shows all over the world have shaped me as a musician, and playing with such great guys has made me a better human being. I will miss it very much.

Due to unforeseen circumstances, I've decided to step down from the drum throne. Nothing weird goin' on here folks…just time to do what's best for me and the family. I wish the Trews nothing but the best, and was so fortunate to play with the best friggin'  band in the Country. I'll be hanging with you all in the crowd at the next show. Peace and Love!" - Sean

A message from Colin, John-Angus and Jack:

“Sean was an integral part of the band over the past 14 years. Together we've written many songs and played many shows all over the world. He was a warrior that hung in there through the ups and downs of the long road and was a really fun guy to share the ride with. We will miss him both on and off stage. Moving forward we will carry on with the very excellent Gavin Maguire behind the kit. A lot of you may have seen Gavin when he joined us half way through our Canadian tour this past fall. We are very grateful to all of our fans for their love and support over the last decade and we hope to have your continued support as we advance along our musical path. We will carry on.”
